Before Facebook there was Google, before Google there was Internet Explorer and before that well there was the internet. It is amazing how much and how fast the tech industry has changed over the last 25 years.

To celebrate these changes and their 25th birthday technology provider Insight have put together this infographic highlighting the major innovations in technology. Here are a couple of their favourites:

1990 – The World Wide Web: It is amazing to think that the internet is less than 25 years old, what did people do before? Sir Tim Berners Lee and his colleagues at CERN changed the world when they created HTTP, I don’t think anyone would of expected quite by how much.

2004 – Facebook: Love it or hate it Facebook has fundamentally changed our culture and has become a part of 1 billion people’s daily lives. It has fundamentally changed the way we communicate and interact with each other.

2010 – The iPad: One thing is undeniable, Steve Jobs was an expert in making great products and the iPad is possibly the jewel in the Apple crown. This wasn’t the first tablet to hit the market but it was the first to gain mass popularity beyond early adopters.

The last 25 years has been incredibly exciting in the world of tech, we can’t wait to see what the next 25 will bring.
