To celebrate the new 2013 World Series Champions, the Boston Red Sox, Market Domination Media created this infographic. It shows the postseason path the Red Sox took in the playoffs to bring Boston their 3rd World Series Championship in the past 10 years. It was also the first time that the Red Sox have clinched a World Series title at home in Fenway Park in close to 100 years!
It was a very nice end to a long season for many reasons. First, the city of Boston experienced the horrible bombings at the marathon earlier in the year so the championship was extra special for the city in such a difficult year. Also, it was a “last to first” year as the Red Sox finished the 2012 season in last place in their division, the American League East.
With a brand new Manager and some new faces on the team for 2013 the Red Sox set out to do the impossible, and they did it! They were a very special team that coined the “Boston Strong” phrase and the team really gelled together well, as evident by their beards. A special team and a special season, something that the city of Boston will never forget, for many reasons.
