Though social networking sites have become very popular all across the world but it has also become one of the major concern for parents and they hate them for various reasons.

As per the reports of National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, it is found that 25% of the Children say that they have received the sexual material while internet surfing.

It is also reported by Crimes against Children Research Center that 22% of the people that are targeted by the online predators were the children who were in the age group of 10 to 13 years.

As per the statistics, 73% of the teens are present on social networking sites and 37% send messages to their friends every day. It is also reported that 22% of the teenagers log on to their Facebook account by more than 10 times in a day.

Various activities are performed by kids on social networking sites. 58% see as to what others are writing, 57 % play the games, 54% like things, 43 % post updates, 39% post the pictures and 24% find the videos, music and reading material.

The statistics also shows that 88% of the parents are aware that their teens are using internet to communicate with the people whom they do not know in the offline world. 61% of the parents stated that their major concern with social networking is that their teens are sharing their personal information online.
