Back in 2003, former Apple employee Andy Rubin and his team of expert engineers first founded the Android brand. Fast-forward to present day and Google’s, open source operating system now rivals Apple’s iOS software at almost every turn and is used in over 80% of mobile devices across the world, while continuing to grow at an astonishing rate.
To celebrate Android’s illustrious success, here at Universal Gadgets we thought we’d take a trip down memory lane and revisit the progression and development of the platform as well as some of its previous versions and features. In doing so, we decided to put together this fantastic infographic to highlight the brand’s evolution and some of the best moments from its incredible history, from Cupcake to Kit Kat.
